JIMMY PAGE
New Jimmy Page works on paper. Few could rip a note off the neck like Mr. Page. These are two interpretations of some iconic images of Jimmy. I could paint anyone but nobody gets them more excited than the man from Led Zeppelin. These originals are both gouache on paper.

RAY CHARLES
George Harrison "My Sweet Lord"
The quiet Beatle was actually one of Rock's best guitarists. If you think of any of the great players they all have distinctive sounds to their instruments and their phrasing . Harrison indeed had a most distinctive approach to his guitar work that made it his own. In a guitar playing contest, Eric Clapton had to work his arse off to beat Harrison and its not sure if he really did in the end. I understand he was pretty darn good at the ukelele.

STEVE McQUEEN
"McQueen Cool" A new painting just released by David Lloyd Glover. 16" x 24" acrylic on canvas.
Nobody was ever more cool than Steve McQueen. He was a regular sight in Hollywood during the 1950's and 60's barreling along Mulholland Drive in a hot Jaguar or scrambling the Santa Monica mountains on his dirt bike. Equipped with his trademark RayBans and his Jay Sebring haircut, Steve McQueen was just the coolest guy around. Steve was known for his driving skill and was a regular pro/am racer. In this portrait study, McQueen is wearing the Nomex racing suit in preparation for a race. The original painting will be available for viewing at Art Brillant Gallery Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.

GLEN CAMPBELL with wife Kim and his new painting
DJANGO RHEINHART "SWEET AND LOWDOWN"
The famous gypsy guitarist and sometimes musical partner with Stephan Grappelli. This portrait by David Lloyd Glover was part of his Jazz show at the Art Brillant Rodeo Drive Gallery June 2005. When he submitted this piece the gallery director was not sure who Django was. Glover assured him that if you put this painting in the front window, the person who does know who Django is will buy it.
Sure enough, a certain famous guitar player was strolling down Rodeo Drive with his wife and it was a match made in heaven. That guitar player was none other than Glen Campbell who now owns this original in his personal collection.

CARY GRANT
When Cary was asked what it was like to be as suave and sophisticated as Cary Grant he said he wished he was too. Archibald Leach created the personna of a mostly elegant but sometimes wacky character that we all came to admire and love. Movies such as BRINGING UP BABY and CHARADE showed his great skill for comedic timing with such an easy flair. NORTH BY NORTHWEST by contrast illustrated his serious dramatic characterizations as one of Hitchcock's favorites. Cary Grant was everything Hitchcock wished he could be especially as they guy who gets the girl in the end. In Cary's case it was Eva Marie Saint in the Hitchcock classic. Later in his life Cary became a bit maudlin with his friends due to the decline of his image and smsaing good looks. This portrait by David Lloyd Glover personifies his allure. The original work is gouache on paper and on diaplay at the Art Brillant Gallery on Rodeo Drive.

BLONDIE aka DEBBIE HARRY
Remember the Disco new wave smash hit "HEART OF GLASS" ? Debbie Harry the former high fashion model turned Disco Diva started the whole shift in dance music. Her music and image were completely unlike the R&B flavored Disco thumpers that artists like Gloria Gayner, Cher, Donna Summer, Sisters Sledge we cranking out during the height of the often derided Disco craze of the late 1970's. This portrait by DAVID LLOYD GLOVER is from a photo shoot with Debbie as a model. Long flowing blonde hair with a jean jacket draped over shoulder was completely different from her in your face white blonde Disco doll face. Maybe you hated that kind of music but you can't deny her influence for both sound and imagery. This original painting on canvas is available for viewing at ART BRILLANT GALLERY 428 Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills CA.

NEW MICK JAGGER PAINTING
Artist David Lloyd Glover has done it again! "Mick, in London" is a winning portrait study. Inspired by an original B&W photo from a very young Rolling Stone. THis is a 22' X 28" oil on canvas study painted in Glover's current style of graphic simplicity.
This portrait was featured in the front window of the ART BRILLANT GALLERY RODEO DRIVE. This one painting has probably created more interest than any other painting shown in this gallery.
The original sold just before New Year's Eve so it is no longer available for public viewing as it has gone into a private collection in San Francisco.
JOHN LENNON PORTRAIT
The newest painting created by David Lloyd Glover is "John, in Hamburg". This was inspired by a B&W photo by his friend Astrid in the early 60's. Probably thr first image of John with a Beatle cut.
The original oil on canvas is 22" x 28". It was shown in the past few weeks at the Art Brillant Gallery Rodeo Drive. It was sold a few days ago but you can enjoy this monochrome painting study right here.
Note that Glover has been using a new flat toned concept on recent paintings. Look closely at this and you will see that it is not photographic detail but very graphic flat cutout tonal areas. Closeup viewing looks very different than seeing it as a whole image from a distance. Lennon's image begins to appear and then come into sharp focus. THIS PAINTING IS SOLD!
More images are on display at the Rodeo Drive Gallery in Beverly Hills
