NEW MICK JAGGER PAINTING

Artist David Lloyd Glover has done it again! "Mick, in London" is a winning portrait study. Inspired by an original B&W photo from a very young Rolling Stone. THis is a 22' X 28" oil on canvas study painted in Glover's current style of graphic simplicity.

This portrait was featured in the front window of the ART BRILLANT GALLERY RODEO DRIVE. This one painting has probably created more interest than any other painting shown in this gallery.

The original sold just before New Year's Eve so it is no longer available for public viewing as it has gone into a private collection in San Francisco.

JOHN LENNON PORTRAIT

The newest painting created by David Lloyd Glover is "John, in Hamburg". This was inspired by a B&W photo by his friend Astrid in the early 60's. Probably thr first image of John with a Beatle cut.

The original oil on canvas is 22" x 28". It was shown in the past few weeks at the Art Brillant Gallery Rodeo Drive. It was sold a few days ago but you can enjoy this monochrome painting study right here.

Note that Glover has been using a new flat toned concept on recent paintings. Look closely at this and you will see that it is not photographic detail but very graphic flat cutout tonal areas. Closeup viewing looks very different than seeing it as a whole image from a distance. Lennon's image begins to appear and then come into sharp focus. THIS PAINTING IS SOLD!
